Thousands of people descended on Alexandra Park for the annual Oldham Mela.

The gathered crowds were treated to performances from a host of artists from the UK Asian music scene as well as international acts including Abrar Ul Haq, flown in from Pakistan especially.

The free family-friendly festival also saw traditional funfair rides and attractions, a bazaar and tons of food.

Those who were in need of a quieter day were treated to aromatherapy, reflexology and head massages.

The mela was hosted by Asian Sound Radio and the BBC Asian Network.
